Monster Hunter Wilds Summer Game Fest Gameplay

Monster Hunter Wilds Crossplay Confirmed in New Trailer

Capcom debuted new gameplay for Monster Hunter Wilds at Summer Game Fest tonight. The gameplay offers a look at a couple of new monsters coming to the game. Capcom also confirmed that a new trailer will arrive at Gamescom Opening Night Live in August, including the first playable hands-on demos at the event. More excitingly, this will be the first Monster Hunter game to feature crossplay when it launches in 2025.

Monster Hunter Wilds has largely been focusing on reveals that offer only bits of new information. This latest gameplay look was short but sweet, showing a horde of new sand-dwelling monsters that can leap in the air and lunge at the player from great heights. It seems like these monsters will also be able to be hunted in isolation. So far, we’ve only seen gameplay with the Greatsword but hopefully new trailers will give us a better look at the other signature weapons in the game.

Capcom confirmed that crossplay support will be available for Monster Hunter Wilds at launch, meaning players across PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC will all be able to play together regardless of which platform they play on. This is particularly exciting as previous Monster Hunter games didn’t feature crossplay and it has since been a highly-requested feature by the community.

Some new gameplay details about Monster Hunter Wilds was revealed last month, confirming 14 different weapons and the new Seikret mounts that will help you traverse the harsh dunes of the world. The first trailer arrived during May’s PlayStation State of Play event which gave us a look at another monster that also travels in herds.

Monster Hunter Wilds launches in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out the new gameplay trailer below:
