Monster Hunter Wilds State of Play Trailer Summer Game Fest

Monster Hunter Wilds Debuts New Trailer – More to Come at Summer Game Fest

Capcom debuted a new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds during last night’s PlayStation State of Play event. The follow-up to 2018’s Monster Hunter World, Wilds seems to feature an open world setting which would be a first for the franchise. If that wasn’t enough, Geoff Keighley confirmed that Capcom will be attending Summer Game Fest to show off more of Monster Hunter Wilds next week.

The latest trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds shows off some of the harsh environments that players will encounter in this new world. Sandstorms frequently blow through the map. Best of all, you can engage in combat with monsters while the sandstorm wreaks havoc. It’s quite a visually stunning sight to behold, though as many commenters pointed out, hopefully Capcom can smoothen out the frame rate issues before launch.

Geoff Keighley also confirmed that Monster Hunter director Ryozo Tsujimoto will be attending Summer Game Fest on 7 June with another look at Monster Hunter Wilds. Hopefully this includes a release date or window, as it’s currently listed with a vague 2025 release.

Monster Hunter Wilds was definitely one of the most impressive trailers featured during the State of Play. As for what to expect at the upcoming Summer Game Fest showcase, it’s possible that we’ll get a look at several new monsters including the flagship monster of the game. For example, Nergigante was the flagship of Monster Hunter World while Velkhana took centre stage in its expansion, Iceborne.

Monster Hunter Wilds is currently in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Summer Game Fest kicks off on 7 June at 2PM PT / 11PM CAT. Check out the latest trailer below:
