Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2 Lagiacrus Seregios Underwater Combat

Monster Hunter Wilds is Adding Lagiacrus, Seregios and Underwater Combat

Last night during the latest Capcom Spotlight showcase, the company blew the lid open on new information about an upcoming massive update for Monster Hunter Wilds. Capcom pinned a release date on Title Update 2, which will not only add the fan-favourite monster Lagiacrus to the game but also the golden-scaled flying wyvern, Seregios. Additionally, fans can also expect underwater combat in the next update.

Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds will officially arrive on Monday, 30 June for consoles and PC, bringing both Lagiacrus and Seregios as new monsters to the game. Seregios made its debut in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and later appeared in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.

Underwater combat is a pretty big deal for Monster Hunter fans. The gameplay feature was only ever used in Monster Hunter 3 (and its Ultimate version). There’s been high fan demand over the years for underwater combat to make a return to the series and it’s finally happening in the next update for Monster Hunter Wilds. Players will seemingly be able to battle Lagiacrus underwater, though it’s unclear if this is an isolated case or if more aquatic monsters will be added over time.

Title Update 2 will also include layered weapons, allowing you to keep the stats of a specific weapon while changing its appearance to resemble another weapon in the same tree. Like layered armour, layered weapons will require players to have farmed and crafted the specific weapon they want the appearance of.

The roadmap for the next few months also confirms that Arch-tempered Uth Duna will be added as a limited time event on 30 July along with the Flamefete Festival of Accord taking place on 23 July.

Steam reviews for the game are currently sitting on Overwhelmingly Negative, mainly due to frequent PC issues as well as a general lack of content. Hopefully, Capcom can turn the reception around with the new updates.
