Monster Hunter Wilds will reportedly be limited to 30FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. This is similar to Dragon’s Dogma 2 which launched earlier this year with uncapped frame rates on consoles. However, the instability of the game’s performance on consoles caused Capcom to put a 30FPS cap on the RPG. It seems like Monster Hunter Wilds might be getting the same treatment.
According to Monster Hunter content creator and speedrunner Canta Per Me who played Monster Hunter Wilds at Gamescom, the demo provided on the showfloor didn’t seem to tun at 60FPS but rather at a stable 30FPS. “I saw no option to switch to performance mode but that might change in the full release,” said Canta Per Me, addressing the possibility that Capcom could add a performance mode to the game at launch.
As some commenters pointed out, the demo for Monster Hunter Wilds at Gamescom could’ve simply been an early build, meaning the developer has yet to apply the finishing touches to the game. Considering that it only launches in 2025, there’s still plenty of time for Capcom to iron out the creases and introduce 60FPS on consoles. Fans also pointed out that the reason Dragon’s Dogma 2 was capped at 30FPS on consoles was due to limitations with Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, which Monster Hunter Wilds is also built on.
Demo was on a ps5, didnt run at 60fps but felt like a stable 30fps

We’ll just have to wait and see if Capcom manages to implement higher frame rates for Monster Hunter Wilds before it releases. The good news is that, according to many players who played the demo at Gamescom, the game ran at a pretty smooth 30FPS which is already a step above Dragon’s Dogma 2 that, even with the 30FPS cap, still had fluctuating frame rates. Updates have since been introduced to fix the technical issues, for the most part.
