Capcom has revealed the pre-load and launch times for its upcoming monster-slaying RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds. The anticipated game is set to launch on 28 February 2025, ushering in a new generation in the series with tons of new monsters, locations and lore expansions. Fans are eagerly waiting to jump into the experience when it launches next week, so here’s exactly when launch times kick off.
Capcom revealed the pre-load and launch times for Monster Hunter Wilds in a recent post on X. PS5 pre-loads begin 48 hours prior in each region, whereas Xbox and PC players can start pre-loading as soon as 25 February. It’s rare to see Johannesburg, South Africa even mentioned on a launch map for a video game these days so thank you very much, Capcom. In SAST, Monster Hunter Wilds will release on 28 February at 12am for consoles and 7am for PC.
Capcom recently hosted two open beta tests on console and PC, allowing players to take part in a handful of hunts with preset gear before the full game’s launch. The second open beta test was extended by one day due to a 24-hour PlayStation Network outage that took place the prior weekend.

In related news, Capcom recently went into some detail about the game’s AI characters that act as support hunters for players who prefer to play solo or offline. They’re meant to emulate the experience of hunting with other players online. Capcom also stated that it has no end-game raid planned at this stage as the focus was on the base game first.
