Monster Hunter Wilds PS5 Controller and Faceplate Revealed – Only For Japan

Capcom has revealed a Monster Hunter Wilds themed PS5 DualSense controller as well as a custom faceplate. However, the catch is that these items are only limited to Japan, at least for now. There’s currently no word on when (or if) the accessories will be made available internationally, though given the hype surrounding the upcoming monster slaying RPG, it will likely be released beyond Japan’s shores at some point.

Detailed via a blog post on PlayStation Japan’s website, the Monster Hunter Wilds DualSense controller will be available in “limited quantities” and will release the same day as the game, on 28 February 2025. Pre-orders for Japanese buyers will open up on 30 October. The PS5 faceplate themed around the game will also be sold, though they’ll be sold separately from the DualSense controller.

The Volcanic Red DualSense controller features the franchise’s Forbidden Area Research Team logo on the touchpad with floral print covering the handles. For the most part, it seems to be a standard red PS5 controller with some touch-ups themed to Capcom’s upcoming RPG.
