Capcom has confirmed that it will be hosting the second open beta test for its upcoming monster slaying action-RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds. The open beta will feature crossplay across PlayStation, Xbox and PC like the last test, meaning players can join each other’s squads regardless of which platform they own. A returning monster will also be making a special appearance in the open beta ahead of the full game’s launch next month.
Monster Hunter Wilds producer Ryozo Tsujimoto released a special New Year’s Greetings video today revealing that a second open beta test is on the way for the anticipated game. Players will be able to squad up across PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC to take on Gypceros, a bird wyvern monster that has been around since the very first Monster Hunter game on PS2.
The first round of the second open beta test will begin on Thursday, 6 February and run until Sunday, 9 February. The weekend after will host the second round beginning on Thursday, 13 February and ending on Sunday, 18 February. Have a look at the full details below:
The second open beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds will include all the content from the first beta as well as a new hunt that pits you against Gypceros. Character creation data can also be carried over from the first beta, if you don’t want to spend another four hours making your hunter and palico. However, overall game progress will not transfer.
To cap it off, everyone who participates in the second beta test will receive special bonuses that can be redeemed in the full game. These include a decorative charm for your weapon or Seikret and an item pack that Capcom didn’t elaborate on.
Monster Hunter Wilds releases on 28 February 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check out the announcement video below:
