Monster Hunter: World will be celebrating its first anniversary next month and since its release back in January of 2018, it has become one of the best JRPGs on the market. Capcom has been constantly supporting the game in so many ways with seasonal events, crossovers and much more. It seems that this is just the tip of the iceberg as Capcom announced in their developer update yesterday that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, a giant expansion will release in late 2019.
According to the developer stream, the expansion will release on PS4, Xbox One and PC as a fully-fledged digital download. Although the cost has not been revealed yet. The trailer is not all that revealing but we do see a giant frozen land in the distance. Iceborne will feature new monsters, weapons, armour, quests and a giant world to explore. According to Capcom, Iceborne will be as big as the “Ultimate” versions of previous Monster Hunter games such as Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.
While you are waiting for that to release, Capcom revealed that there will be a Witcher 3 and Monster Hunter: World crossover coming your way in 2019. Unlike past crossovers that just saw you make armour to look like a character, this one will actually see you take on the role of Geralt of Rivia. Doug Cockle, the original voice actor for the video game has even recorded lines for the crossover.
2019 is going to be a big year for the game and if you have not played it in a while then best get back in soon. On 19 December to 3 January 2019, the Arch-Tempered Kulve Taroth will arrive in the game to keep you busy this festive season.
