Mortal Kombat 1 Leaked With Collector’s Edition and Platforms

After months of speculation, the next Mortal Kombat game from NetherRealm Studios – believed to be Mortal Kombat 12 – has now been leaked and it’s called Mortal Kombat 1. As most fans guessed from the recent teaser video and now the odd naming convention, this will be a reboot of the franchise. Along with the leaked information, we also know the prices for the various editions of the game including the Collector’s Edition and which platforms it will appear on.

The leak originates from prominent PlayStation leaker billbil-kun, who has a remarkably solid track record of accurate leaks regarding the PlayStation Plus lineup every month. This adds quite a bit of credibility to the leak. This time, the leaker has spilled the beans on Mortal Kombat 1, the next game in the franchise that appears to be a reboot and new slate for the bloody fighting game series.

Mortal Kombat 1 will apparently launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch, skipping over last-gen consoles. It will also come in three different editions:

  • Standard Edition: $69.99 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, $59.99 for Nintendo Switch
  • Premium Edition: $109.99
  • Kollector’s Edition: $249.99 (only for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, not Nintendo Switch)

The leaker didn’t mention exactly what contents come with each edition, though stated that an announcement is very close. We originally speculated that the next Mortal Kombat game might be revealed at one of the upcoming summer gaming events but it looks like NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros Games could reveal it much sooner than anticipated. It’s possible that a reveal could happen in the next week and we’ll see more in-depth gameplay at either the rumoured PlayStation showcase or Summer Game Fest.

The leak doesn’t mention a release date for Mortal Kombat 1 though thanks to Warner Bros, we know that it will be out before the end of the year.
