Dataminers have once again worked their magic on Mortal Kombat 1, unveiling the next six DLC characters. The latest leak seemingly confirms previous rumours of Scream‘s Ghostface joining the roster but further digging has revealed a number of unannounced DLC fighters that will be joining the game, presumably in the next Kombat Pack.
The leak originates from dataminer Interloko who recently unearthed the next six DLC characters coming to Mortal Kombat 1: Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, Conan the Barbarian and the T-1000 from the Terminator franchise. For the most part, it’s a decent list of fighters that were in high demand in the community such as Cyrax and Noob Saibot, though the inclusion of Conan and T-1000 is a bit of a surprise.
Developer NetherRealm Studios has yet to conclude Kombat Pack 1 with Takahashi Takeda being the only character left to release as part of the first DLC package. Previously released characters in the first Kombat Pack included The Boys‘ Homelander, Invincible‘s Omni-Man, Peacemaker, Quan-Chi and Ermac.
MK 1 BIG datamine:
I found 6 DLC characters, 2 arenas and 5 new announcers and it’s 100% konfirmed!!!https://t.co/G3nTP2QTVV— Interloko (@interloko) June 24, 2024
It was initially believed that the “theme” of Mortal Kombat 1‘s DLC fighters would be superheroes. Mortal Kombat X‘s DLC fighters were mostly horror icons such as the Xenomorph, Leatherface and Jason Voorhees. Mortal Kombat 11 took a decidedly different approach with its inclusion of 80s action hero icons like Rambo and the Terminator.
In related news, Mortal Kombat 1 is set to make its big debut at Evo 2024, the largest fighting game tournament in the world. NetherRealm’s bloody fighting game will also be joined by Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8, which will all likely circulate in the tournament for the next few years.
Mortal Kombat 1 is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch.
