Mortal Kombat 1 Pre-Order Beta Date and Content Announced

NetherRealm Studios has announced that a pre-order beta for its upcoming bloody fighting game, Mortal Kombat 1, is set to take place from 18-21 August 2023. The studio also revealed which characters, Kameos and stages players can expect to try out in the beta. At the moment, the beta only seems to be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players.

The official Mortal Kombat 1 social media account recently announced a beta for players who pre-order the game on PlayStation and Xbox. Players will have four days to access the beta and try out a handful of characters, stages and Kameos to get a feel of the gameplay. The fighters included in this beta will be Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Kenshi, Kitana, Johnny Cage and Li Mei. Additionally, Kameos include Kano, Sonya, Jax and Frost with The Teahouse and Johnny Cage’s Mansion being the available stages.

As mentioned before, this beta will only be available to players who pre-order Mortal Kombat 1 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S before the kick-off date on 18 August. Unfortunately there’s no way to really sign up for access to the beta at the moment. With the game expected to launch in September, hopefully more fans can look forward to a potential open beta before release.

This beta for Mortal Kombat 1 follows a previous online stress test which was meant to do just that: stress the servers. The pre-order beta will thankfully be a bit more substantial in its content offering.

In related news, a new trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 recently confirmed that Smoke and Rain will be joining the starting character roster alongside new Kameos including Cyrax and Sektor. Mortal Kombat 1 launches on 19 September 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch.
