NetherRealm Studios has officially announced Mortal Kombat 1, the next mainline installment in the iconic bloody fighting game franchise, Mortal Kombat. The game will be a reboot of the series again and promises a return to form with new character designs and overhauled combat. If you’re one of the local fans excited for the upcoming game, we’ve compiled a South African pre-order guide that details the prices, editions and how to get your hands on the awesome Collector’s edition.
Mortal Kombat 1 will come in three different editions: the Standard Edition, the Premium Edition and the Kollector’s Edition. Each edition contains a number of unique items including a great pre-order bonus that nets you Shang Tsung as a playable character at launch.

Mortal Kombat 1 Standard Edition
The Standard Edition of Mortal Kombat 1 is priced at R1,230 and contains the base game as well as these pre-order exclusives:
- Shang Tsung Downloadable Character
- Official Mortal Kombat Keychain Logo
- Official Mortal Kombat “Game Box” Keychain

Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition
The Premium Edition of Mortal Kombat 1 costs R1,710 and comes with the base game as well as pre-order exclusives. However, it also offers 1 week of early access to the game as well as 1 week of early access to all DLC characters. Kombat Pack 1 is also available in this edition which includes 6 new playable characters, 5 new Kameo characters and the Jean-Claude Van Damme Skin for Johnny Cage.

Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector’s Edition
Finally, the coveted Kollector’s Edition for Mortal Kombat 1 is priced at R4,910 and includes all the previously mentioned contents of the Standard and Premium Editions. Additionally, players will get a fantastic Liu Kang Sculpture, an exclusive steel case, limited edition COARSE Art Prints and an exclusive limited edition Liu Kang in-game colour variant.
