The upcoming live-action Mortal Kombat 2 movie has shared a first look at Kitana, played by actress Adeline Rudolph. While the character’s face isn’t shown in the new promotional image, it does give us a better look at Kitana’s detailed outfit and trademark razorblade fans.
Mortal Kombat series co-creator Ed Boon “leaked” the recent image of Kitana from Mortal Kombat 2, claiming to have recently seen an unfinished cut of the movie. He then apparently broke into producer Todd Garner’s phone to grab the image of Kitana. Of course, this is all a joke but now that the cat’s out of the bag, we have our first official look at the upcoming live-action movie.
The outfit’s design appears to be quite faithful to Kitana’s depictions in the video games, though we’ll have to wait for a proper character image to see if Adeline Rudolph fits the role. Have a look at the image below:
I recently saw a (unfinished cut) screening of the Mortal Kombat 2 movie. During the screening I broke into @Todd_Garner ‘s phone, found this image from the film, and send it to my phone.
Mortal Kombat 2 is the follow-up to 2021’s Mortal Kombat movie which served as a prequel or set-up to the actual tournament. The sequel will likely focus on the tournament itself between Earth Realm and Outworld.
The movie’s cast includes returning cast members Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han/Sub-Zero, Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Josh Lawson as Kano, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Max Huang as Kung Lao and Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade. New actors joining the cast for the sequel include Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, Martyn Ford as Shao Kahn, Damon Herriman as Quan Chi, Tati Gabrielle as Jade, Ana Thu Nguyen as Sindel, CJ Bloomfield as Baraka and Adeline Rudolph as Kitana.
Mortal Kombat 2 arrives in cinemas on 24 October 2025.
