Mortal Kombat: Onslaught has been pulled from sale on the App Store and Google Play after only being available for a year. The free-to-play mobile game was announced back in October 2022 to coincide with the franchise’s 30th anniversary and released one year later.
The game’s Twitter/X account revealed that it will officially shut down on 21 October but has already been pulled from sale on the App Store and Google Play. In-game purchases will no longer be available from 23 September, though Mortal Kombat: Onslaught will still be playable until 21 October before it shuts down for good.
Players are asking the developers for compensation by offering those who stuck with the game rewards and other means to enjoy the game before it shuts down in a few months. The account hasn’t responded to any requests, suggesting that it might have no plans to go out with a bang.
Mortal Kombat: Onslaught will shut down on 10/21/24. The game will be removed from the App Store and Google Play on 7/22/24, with in-game purchases disabled on 8/23/24. Players can enjoy the game until 10/21/24. It has been an honor creating this game for our Kommunity.

Meanwhile, NetherRealm Studios is still going strong with Mortal Kombat 1. The game recently made its debut at the massive fighting game tournament, Evo 2024, alongside Tekken 8. Takeda Takahashi will also launch on 23 July as the last DLC character for the current Kombat Pack. Thereafter, a new Kombat Pack will introduce several new DLC characters. Thanks to a previous leak, we know it will be Ghostface from Scream, the T-1000 from the Terminator franchise, Conan the Barbarian, Noob Saibot, Cyrax and Sektor.
Mortal Kombat 1 is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch. Mortal Kombat: Onslaught isn’t available to purchase on iOS and Android anymore.
