Polyarc Moss Multiplayer Game

Moss Developer Polyarc Working on Multiplayer Game

The developers behind the award-winning Moss series have announced a new multiplayer game currently in development at the studio. Polyarc hasn’t shared much detail on this new game but the studio says it is being built for VR and is entering close beta soon.

The keyart for the new VR game does feature a familiar design to that of the Moss series so it is likely that the game is set in the same universe. The website artwork features six characters each with their own class-like roles. There’s a knight, a sorcerer, an assassin, a dark knight, an archer, and a monk. By the look of things, these will be the characters you’ll play in the game.

Polyarc says the beta for this new multiplayer game will take place between 14-16 April and is only available on Meta Quest 2 at this stage. However, the studio hasn’t ruled out running tests on other VR devices. The FAQ states that the studio hopes to include other VR devices in future playtests. This means that whatever this new VR game is, we’ll likely see it land on PS VR2 sometime in the future.

The studio says that it has been excited to work on a multiplayer game for VR ever since it started development on Moss back in 2015. However, the developers waited for the VR player base to grow before jumping into this project.

After the huge success of Moss: Book 1 and Moss: Book 2, both of which are available on PS VR2, it will be interesting to see where Polyarc takes the series. Especially considering this new direction is multiplayer and not story-driven single-player games on which the studio has been built.
