MSI Katana and Sword Gaming Notebooks Are Designed By Three Kingdoms’ Tsuyoshi Nagano

MSI is taking a different approach to its 2021 hardware with both its design and gaming notebooks. The tech giant adopted a tagline they call “Tech meets Aesthetic” whereas its new range of notebooks features striking designs inspired by the Golden Ratio. Not only is the Fibonacci Sequence a large inspiration for the range but MSI also outsourced famed artist Tsuyoshi Nagano to create two of the gaming notebooks, the MSI Katana and MSI Sword 17.

MSI says that the art inspiration behind the new gaming notebooks will help elevate the range thanks to their striking new design aesthetic. The MSI Sword 17 features a clear-white colour that allows the notebook to bear a minimalist design similar to a hilt of a samurai sword. As for the MSI Katana, it is the black version of the range and acts as a complete contrast to the MSI Sword.

Putting the MSI Sword and MSI Katana gaming notebooks side-by-side, kind of gives me that “Pokemon game version” feeling to them. Not only do the notebooks pack a contrasting shell, blue and red-backlit keyboard but even the naming seems like something out of the Pokemon universe. Kinda cool, right?

But the MSI Sword and MSI Katana aren’t just pretty faces designed by Three Kingdom artist Tsuyoshi Nagano. They also pack some powerful internals. Both notebooks feature multiple variations including different GPUs and storage configurations with the Intel 11th-Gen CPU powering the range.

With the latest 11th Gen. Intel Core i7 processors and powered by NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series graphics, the Katana GF66 is optimized to unleash true performance during gameplay. The new Katana GF66 is built with the same exquisite craftsmanship used to forge a blade. Run at optimal performance and shine on the battlefield.

In ancient times, there existed a legendary sword that was imbued with the dragon’s soul.

The “Dragon Blade” was forged by the Dragon Clan and no weapon stands parallel to it power. Every swing strikes a gust of wind like a hurricane and every blow would ignite the sky in a fiery tempest. Now, pick up the Dragon Blade bestowed with the powers of the dragon, and battle on to new heights
