According to a press release, the decision to use Rainbow Six Siege as the game of choice is purely due to fan and player requests. It was the game in the top two most requested games in a survey hosted by Mettlestate. In addition, the South African servers also help make this possible.
Registration for the competition kicks off on 25 May 2020. Entries are limited to 32 teams. The cup will be double elimination with a prize pool of R20,000. The qualifiers will not be streamed live. However, Mettlestate and MSI will be streaming the semi-finals and the finals so viewers can tune into the exciting matches. More details will follow soon.
Registration opens on 25 May and teams can register by visiting the play.mettlestate.com site.
