Disney and Marvel Studios have shuffled around their upcoming release schedule, resulting in several anticipated upcoming MCU movies being delayed, including Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars which have both been pushed back by a year. The two Avengers movies are expected to cap off the current slate of Marvel Cinematic Universe phases similar to Infinity War and Endgame, though we’ll have to wait a little while longer to see the exciting conclusion of the multiverse saga.
Apart from Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, other notable upcoming releases were also delayed. Captain America: Brave New World has been pushed back by three months to 26 July 2024, while Thunderbolts got hit with a five-month delay to 20 December 2024. Blade starring Mahershala Ali has been pushed to 14 February 2025 while Fantastic Four has a new release date of 2 May 2025. On the bright side, Deadpool 3 now has a release date of 3 May 2024.

Actor Jonathan Majors was set to become the MCU’s next Thanos-like overarching villain of the current saga as Kang the Conqueror but since Majors was recently hit with assault charges, it remains to be seen if he’ll return to the Marvel universe or be replaced.
The production of Blade also faced numerous setbacks. A report from September last year claimed that Mahershala Ali was “frustrated” with the movie’s script, which was only 90 pages long (roughly translates to a 90-minute movie) and only featured two lacklustre action sequences. Blade‘s original director, Bassam Tariq, stepped away from the movie’s production for unknown reasons. It sounds like things might be getting back on track since Lovecraft County producer Yann Demange stepped in as the new director.
