MultiVersus Gets New Trailer – Jason Voorhees and Agent Smith Join The Fight

Warner Bros. wasn’t kidding when the company said that MutliVersus would feature “all WB characters”. The latest cinematic trailer has revealed popular slasher Jason Voorhees and The Matrix’s Agent Smith are both joining the fight.

MultiVersus is scheduled to launch next week as a fully playable, version 1.0 game. The fighter went live into early access in 2023 and was pulled offline as Player First Games finished up development late last year. The new trailer celebrates what WB Games hopes to be a long-standing live-service experience.

The trailer is all CG and showcases popular characters like Finn and Velma beating the crap out of Bugs Bunny, The Joker, Iron Giant and other WB characters. It has everything you would expect from a multiverse mash-up and you’ll have to watch it a few times over to truly capture all the little details.

The biggest news is that Friday the 13th star Jason Vorhees and The Matrix’s Agent Smith are new additions to the fighting roster. They also join Adventure Time’s Banana Guard as the third new playable character.

MultiVersus is expected to launch on 28 May and ships with new modes and characters. It is still free-to-play but expect all those lovely live-service mechanics WB Games believes are so lucrative to appear in the game. There’s also a new PvE mode called Rifts which contains unique versions of different characters to fight. This mode is aimed at players who don’t want to participate in the PvP aspect.

MultiVersus is launching on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Enjoy the trailer below:
