MultiVersus Open Beta Date Announced for Consoles and PC

Warner Bros. Games and developer Player First Games’ upcoming pop culture brawler MultiVersus has been given a date for its open beta. Beginning on 26 July, players across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC will be able to download and play the open beta complete with full cross-play support.

Additionally, players who participated in previous tests of the game will be able to get into the open beta a little earlier, starting on 19 July. Warner Bros. Games revealed that the game will support a dedicated server-based rollback netcode, which is excellent news for those looking to play competitively online. If you don’t want to play online, the upcoming open beta will also support local play for the first time.

As for what you can expect in the upcoming open beta for MultiVersus, it will include eight different maps, namely the Batcave from DC’s Batman, Tree Fort from Adventure Time and Scooby’s Haunted Mansion from Scooby-Doo, among others.

The character roster for MultiVersus‘ open beta includes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Shaggy, Velma, Arya Stark, Tom & Jerry, Jake the Dog and Finn the Human, Steven Universe and Garnet, Reindog, and Bugs Bunny and Tasmanian Devil. Characters rumoured to be coming to the game include Godzilla, Ted Lasso, Scorpion (Mortal Kombat), Fred Flintstone and Samurai Jack.

Several modes will be available during the open beta: 2v2 team-based cooperative mode, 1v1 matches, 4-player free for all, co-op vs. AI matches, custom online lobbies, practice mode (called The Lab), tutorials and local play matches supporting up to four players.

Warner Bros. Games also released a new gameplay trailer for MultiVersus (below) confirming the iconic animated robot the Iron Giant as a playable character, who will be present in the open beta.

MultiVersus currently doesn’t have a release date but it will launch as a free-to-play title across all major consoles and PC. Check out the new gameplay trailer below.
