A mysterious game from Warner Bros Games has leaked on the Xbox Store, revealing a file size but no title attached to it. There’s been some speculation online about what it could possibly be, with the popular theory being NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat 12 which is heavily rumoured to be revealed at The Game Awards next week. Others have also put forth the idea that it’s Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
As reported by Game Rant, the unknown Warner Bros game was listed on the Xbox Store recently without an accompanying title, just the codename ‘MetCat’. The file size appears to be 43 GB, which is par for the course for many AAA games these days. If it were Hogwarts Legacy, it’s likely that it would’ve been named but the fact that the title has been withheld means that it’s being kept a secret, possibly for something unannounced (including a release date reveal).

Of course, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is one of the biggest upcoming games of 2023 and seems to be one of the only Warner Bros titles that’s been officially announced besides Hogwarts Legacy.
Mortal Kombat 12 is certainly on the table too. Last week, the series’ co-creator Ed Boon revealed that the studio’s next game would either be Mortal Kombat 12 or Injustice 3. The former seems more likely to happen but Boon is known to troll so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Most of all, the timing of this leak on the Xbox Store suggests that we’ll see what this mystery game actually is at The Game Awards next week, which is the last major gaming event of the year. At best, we can expect a new game announcement from WB Games which probably has a few unannounced titles cooking besides Mortal Kombat. However, if we had to put money on it, we think it might be Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which may make an appearance at the awards show next week with a confirmed release date.
