Native PS5 Version of Cyberpunk 2077 Spotted on PSN With New Cover

CD Projekt Red is prepping to announce its PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrade of Cyberpunk 2077. A new boxart for the game was spotted on the PlayStation database and it features a whole new artwork that wasn’t used for the game’s initial release back in 2020.

The artwork was spotted by Twitter account PlayStation Game Size. The account claims that CD Projekt Red will announce the update in early February with a release set for mid-February or early March 2022.

While we don’t know much about the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Cyberpunk 2077 update yet, we do know that it will include a range of visual enhancements made for the new consoles. What we don’t know is whether or not the game version will include any new gameplay enhancements.

Reports claim that CD Projekt Red has incorporated new features into the game including enhanced traffic, crafting systems and new gameplay mechanics. However, that has not been confirmed yet by the studio.

CD Projekt Red originally planned on releasing the Cyberpunk 2077 enhanced update for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S back in 2021 but the studio delayed the patch late last year. This being after multiple updates and patches were released in 2021 for the PS4 and Xbox versions. These updates attempted to fix the game’s almost unplayable state.

While the game is in a much better state than it was when it was released, Cyberpunk 2077 is still far off from becoming the game that the studio promised us. Will we ever get the Cyberpunk 2077 that was promised to us? We don’t think so but if the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S enhanced version look better, at least it will be eye candy. Even if the game is a horrible experience compared to the “promised” game.
