Nearly 25% of God of War Ragnarok Players Already Beat the Game

God of War Ragnarok released only two weeks ago and players are already beating the game in record time. According to Trophy data, nearly 25% of all players have already rolled credits on the game. Considering that there’s a lot to do and see in God of War Ragnarok that can easily take 18 hours for the campaign alone (and probably a dozen more for all side content), this is quite impressive.

As reported by Push Square, precisely 24.8% of players have beaten the main story in just two weeks. While it’s not entirely uncommon for games – especially story-driven single-player experiences – to be finished so quickly after launch, God of War Ragnarok‘s case is a special one as the game sold 5.1 million copies in its first week alone, making it fastest-selling PlayStation exclusive to date. This means that a quarter of the player base (or roughly around 1.3 million players) have already finished it.

God of War Ragnarok continues to be a massive success, both critically and commercially, for PlayStation and developer Santa Monica Studio. Not only is it Sony’s fastest-selling exclusive ever, it’s also one of the highest rated games of the year, trailing second behind From Software’s Elden Ring in review scores.

With that momentum, PlayStation is about to have a pretty stellar 2023 with the release of highly anticipated exclusives like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy XVI and possibly Final Fantasy VII Rebirth too.

In related news, God of War Ragnarok director Eric Williams is really interested in making a Castlevania game should Konami give him the opportunity. Santa Monica Studio has also explained the ending for the game, though if you want a more widespread recap of the game’s entire story, you can read it here.

God of War Ragnarok is currently available for PS4 and PS5.
