Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is set to release in November 2020. Well, that is according to a new Amazon UK listing anyway. Over the weekend, users spotted the EA Games title on the site with a 13 November 2020 release date.
It is not the first time we have heard about the game. In June, another leak suggested that Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered would arrive in late 2020 for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch.
Is this EA’s new Need for Speed game? We doubt it. Earlier this year, EA Games announced that the company began working on a brand-new NFS game. The rumoured Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered could be the one to tide fans over until this new ambitious entry in the series releases.
Of course, it is too early to tell yet whether or not the game will arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X. However, the November release date is a Friday and possibly around the same time the next-gen consoles are said to roll out. Microsoft’s Xbox Series X is rumoured to launch on 7 November with Sony’s PS5 soon after.
Needless to say, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is one of the series’ best. The cop versus robbers racer is a mix between the classic Underground gameplay with the Burnout world and fast-paced car chases. The game originally launched on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2010. A 2020 release would make the game’s ten-year anniversary.
EA has been tight-lid about its plans for the remainder of the year. The rumoured Mass Effect N7 Trilogy Remastered which has leaked multiple times has yet to be announced. This Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered game marks another leak which EA has yet to confirm. Hopefully, EA will lift the lid on its plans soon.
