The Tencent-developed Need for Speed Mobile title has seemingly leaked gameplay footage after a recent test. The leak comes from a Reddit user who supposedly was able to capture and leak the footage of the upcoming mobile game.
The leaked footage shows a few cars racing around cityscapes which the Reddit user also claims there are only three in the test – McLaren F1, Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, as well as the Lamborgini Gallardo.

Need for Speed Mobile 2022 (Tencent) Gameplay Leaked from needforspeed
As you can see in the footage the title seems to run fairly well, offering smooth gameplay and stunning visuals. The title is currently being developed using Unreal Engine 4 and will supposedly use a modified version of Need for Speed Heat’s Miami-themed map, which we can see in the video footage above.
Tencent is also working with EA – publisher and IP-owner of Need for Speed – to bring Apex Legends Mobile which will release globally next week. EA has even assigned a dedicated team within Respawn Entertainment to work with Tencent’s Lightspeed and Quantum Studios for the mobile version of Respawn’s free-to-play online shooter.
Tencent seems to be carrying an excellent torch for mobile games as they also handled the Call of Duty Mobile title for Activision, PUBG Mobile, and are also now working on an Assassin’s Creed mobile game for Ubisoft. Tencent’s mobile games have often been quite fun, run quite well, and offer some accessible controls which we expect will be the case in the Need for Speed Mobile title.
The next mainline instalment of Need for Speed will come in the fourth quarter of 2022 as confirmed by EA which should then release during the holiday period. Criterion has also confirmed that it has dropped plans to release the title on previous-gen PS4 and Xbox One consoles and will only release on current-gen PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
