Square Enix has released a playable demo for its upcoming NEO: The World Ends With You game. The free playable demo is available tomorrow, 25 June on PS4 through the PlayStation Store and on Nintendo Switch through the eShop. According to Square Enix, players experience the bustling streets of Shibuya in the demo as they get to try out some cool moves and get a taste of the full game to come.
NEO: The World Ends With You is the anticipated follow up to the original 2007 RPG as players follow the story of Rindo on his quest to survive and compete in a strange digital game called the Reaper’s Game. This mysterious game came out of nowhere one day and tasked the people of Shibuya to participate in timed life-or-death battles.

The NEO: The World Ends With You demo lets players experience the first two days of the Reaper’s Game. Players will also meet Rindo. In addition, players will meet Fret and some of the other supporting cast members. The game also follows the same traditional “Pins” gameplay. This means the demo gives you a taste of a few of them as players can use these pins to fight off the mysterious “Noise” threat.
Along with the NEO: The World Ends With You demo news, Square Enix also shared the game’s “final trailer”. In the 5-minute trailer, we get a better understanding of the game’s world and the colourful cast of characters. The trailer also gives us a glimpse into the overall madness that awaits players in this world torn asunder by this strange Reaper’s Game.
If anything, NEO: The World Ends With You is going to be a bigger and more ambitious game than the previous one. Check out the trailer down below. NEO: The World Ends With You is set to launch on 27 July 2021.
