Netflix Geeked Week – All The Biggest Announcements

Netflix has almost wrapped up its annual Geeked Week event where the streaming service played host to a number of cool announcements, panels and updates related to its geek-themed content. Each day at Netflix Geeked Week was themed around something new with TV shows on Monday, movies on Tuesday and Stranger Things and gaming taking their own slots.

If anything, the whole event takes way too long so I decided to compile all the announcements you might have missed into one post. Here’s everything you might have missed during Netflix Geeked Week. Keep in mind that Geeked Week has one more day so we will add to this post once Netflix wraps up its final reveals.

The Sea Beast

Directed by Chris Williams (writer on Moana and director of Big Hero 6), The Sea Beast is an upcoming animation that follows a cute blue sea creature and two unlikely heroes on a crazy adventure across sea and land. The Sea Beast releases on 8 July.

Troll

Netflix announced a new live-action monster movie called Troll. The trailer doesn’t explain much but it seems we are in for a movie based on a massive rock troll found in the real world. Troll has no release date.

Day Shift

Jamie Foxx plays a pool cleaner in Day Shift. However, while he is not cleaning pools, he is secretly a vampire hunter at night. Netflix released some inside look footage at the movie. It is set to debut on 12 August.

Blasted

Blasted looks awesome from what I could gather in the trailer. While short, the trailer goes from a wedding to a UFO invasion and I have no idea what is happening but I want more. Blasted is set to premiere on 28 June.

Wendell and Wild

A new original stop motion project created by Jordan Peele is set to debut in October on Netflix. Wendell and Wild is an animated tale about scheming demon brothers who enlist the aid of 13-year-old Kat Elliot, a tough teen with a load of guilt, to summon them to the Land of the Living

Spiderhead

Set in a strange prison where experiments are done on inmates, Spiderhead looks quite freaky. It stars Chris Hemsworth and releases on 17 June.

The Gray Man

Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling will square off against one another in The Gray Man as it marks the service’s most expensive film ever produced to date. It is set to launch on 22 July.

The School for Good and Evil

Directed by Paul Feig, the fantasy film stars Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington and more. It is set to launch later this year.

Manifest

Manifest Season 4 will release in two parts. Each part will be 10 episodes long. Netflix has yet to announce a release date.

All of Us Are Dead
