Netflix has confirmed a second season of its conspiracy theory animated show, Inside Job. The company also revealed a brand new trailer offering a first look at the events that will transpire in the upcoming season. The first season originally aired in October 2021 and was created by the writer/producer of Gravity Falls and Regular Show, Shion Takeuchi. Season 2 of Inside Job doesn’t have a release date or episode count yet.
The 3-minute first look trailer for the second season of Inside Job once again plays up the various conspiracy theories that the show tackles. Eagle-eyed viewers might also spot references to plenty of other shows and movies. The cast of the show includes Cloverfield and Masters of Sex actress Lizzy Caplan as protagonist Reagan Ridley, who will reprise her role in the new season.
The first season of Inside Job aired last year for 10 episodes after previously being approved for 20 episodes in 2019. Netflix has yet to confirm the second season’s release date, but we presume it might air in October this year.
The announcement of the second season arrived as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week, which is currently ongoing.
Inside Job follows a shadowy government organisation that deals with conspiracy theories that are very real, from lizard people and time travel to aliens and more. However, it focuses on a dysfunctional team who specialise in committing the world’s conspiracies. Needless to say, plenty of mishaps occur which leads to some of the show’s great comedic moments.
In related news, Netflix recently released the first part of Stranger Things season 4, with part 2 expected to arrive on 1 July. Other shows currently in the works include a live-action One Piece series and a BioShock movie, among others.
