Netflix will be releasing the first season of Locke and Key on 7 February 2020 and the first trailer has arrived. The show is based on the best-selling graphic novel of the same name originally written by Joe Hill and illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez. It follows the story of three Locke siblings and their mother who move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse and begin to discover magical keys that connect to the father’s death.
The comic book series was first released in 2008 by IDW and it was an instant hit receiving critical claim for its imaginative storytelling. The show has been in limbo since 2010 when FOX greenlit the pilot episode but did not order a full season after screening the first episode to a select few individuals at Comic-Con during that same year.
Locke and Key then went on to be a planned feature film by Universal and soon after Hulu shot its own pilot episode too. All of which never became publically available. Netflix then picked up the show and now we have a full first season ready for airing.
For fans of the novels, it has been a long time coming as Netflix’s Locke & Key will be the show fans have waited almost ten years to watch. Luckily they don’t have long to wait as all 10 episodes will be available on 7 February 2020 only on Netflix. Take a look at the trailer for Netflix’s Locke & Key down below.
