Scott Pilgrim Anime Trailer Netflix Cast

Netflix’s Scott Pilgrim Anime Debuts First Explosive Trailer

Netflix has debuted the first teaser trailer for the upcoming anime adaptation of Scott Pilgrim based on the graphic novel by Bryan Lee O’Malley, who is also writing the new series. The streaming service first announced its plans to turn the IP into an anime earlier this year with executive producer Edgar Wright, who also directed the beloved Scott Pilgrim vs. The World movie. Furthermore, it will also feature the full cast from the movie lending their voices to the characters again.

The teaser trailer for Scott Pilgrim gives us a glimpse into the explosive animation from Japanese studio Science Saru along with the character designs, which aren’t straying too far from the graphic novel’s striking art style.

The voice cast of the Scott Pilgrim anime sees the return of the movie’s full cast including Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers, Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim, Alison Pill as Kim Pine, Jason Schwartzman as Gideon Graves, Ellen Wong as Knives Chau, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, Brie Larson as Envy Adams, Brandon Routh as Todd Ingram, Aubrey Plaza as Julie Powers and many others.

Wright, who wrote and directed the 2010 movie, commented on the announcement of the anime adaptation:

“Original creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, along with writer BenDavid Grabinski have conjured up an anime series of Scott Pilgrim that doesn’t just expand the universe, but also…well, just watch it. I’m more than happy to announce that I have helped coax the entire original cast back to voice their characters on this epic new adventure. You are in for a treat.”

Netflix is also cooking up a live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s best-selling manga, One Piece, which is scheduled to launch on the streaming service later this month.

Scott Pilgrim arrives on Netflix on 17 November. Check out the official teaser trailer below:
