Castlevania Advance Collection Consoles PC

New AAA Castlevania Game Might Be Announced in 2025

A new AAA Castlevania game could be announced in 2025. This is according to a new report which claims that Konami is gearing up to bring the beloved series back with a new entry, continuing its streak of reviving its key franchises like Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid.

As reported by Geekinout, sources close to the outlet claim that Konami will announce a new AAA Castlevania game sometime in 2025. This aligns with a previous report from back in March 2023 via Gematsu that a secret game codenamed ‘Project Zircon’ was in development at the company, making the connection to the Castlevania series. Nothing has come of this rumour until now, which doubles down on a new game, rather than a remake or remaster, being in development.

There are a handful of places this year where this announcement could take place. A new PlayStation State of Play event is rumoured to happen this month. Sony and Konami have a good relationship – the Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team was released as a PS5 console exclusive (in addition to PC), though it’s not known if this was a timed exclusive or not. PlayStation has also marketed the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake, which just had its release date leaked via the PS Store.

There’s also a chance that we could see it revealed at a number of other gaming events throughout 2025 including Summer Game Fest, Gamescom or The Game Awards towards the end of the year.

The Castlevania IP has been kept alive and relevant thanks to Netflix’s excellent animated shows over the past few years. Fans have been begging for a new game in the series since 2014’s Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, which was the last game released in the franchise before Konami went quiet with its intellectual properties.
