Rumours surrounding a new Armored Core game from From Software have been floating around since the beginning of the year when a consumer survey leaked several screenshots and information about the unannounced title. Now, a new job listing posted by From Software gives us our biggest hint yet that the Elden Ring studio is currently working on a mech-based action game which is likely the leaked Armored Core game.
From Software recently posted a job listing seeking a Character Designer to work on a game that contains mechs. The designer’s job would be to “dig deep into the concept” of mecha and express it in conceptual art and pictures.

The revealing job description for From Software’s Character Designer position reads:
“You will be in charge of a wide range of designs related to characters and mecha. Rather than simply drawing pictures and illustrations, my job is to dig deep into the concept and design the information to express it in pictures.”
According to previous reports, From Software’s veteran director Hidetaka Miyazaki will be involved in this new Armored Core game too. The studio has seen great success since releasing its acclaimed Dark Souls trilogy, the PS4 exclusive Bloodborne, the stealth-action game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and this year’s critically acclaimed open-world RPG Elden Ring. A remake of Demon’s Souls, developed by Sony’s Bluepoint, was also released in 2020 for PS5.
The Armored Core series has been dormant for several years now, with From Software opting to focus on new IPs and dark fantasy action-RPGs instead. That said, reviving Armored Core at this point would certainly put a lot of attention on the series and the underappreciated mech genre in gaming as a whole, especially with From Software’s current reputation as one of the industry’s best developers.
