If you’re hungry for some new Assassin’s Creed Shadows content, there’s a brand-new video to watch this morning that is the best look at the game so far. Ubisoft has released 20 minutes of gameplay that covers a wide variety of mechanics in the game.
The biggest showcase in the video is how the new Infiltration system works. A feature that has been missing from the majority of Assassin’s Creed games for a while now, Infiltration sees players venture into castles across the game, which act as the game’s strongholds.
These areas are filled with hostile guards, rare resources, and one rare loot chest. You’ll want to complete them if you want to get the most out of your gear. Ubisoft says that players can decide which castles to conquer as the contents of this loot are displayed on the map when you hover over the icon. This makes it ideal for players seeking the perfect build. However, completionists will likely just do them all anyway.
In the video, the player is seen taking both characters into the same area. However, the two characters tackle the Infiltration at different times of the day and in a completely different season, and each provides unique opportunities and challenges to the game.
The video swaps back and forth between stealth and combat across both characters. I suggest you give it a watch if you’re not sure how you’re going to approach the game. Both characters can seemingly take on an Infiltration with either stealth or going in loud, but each approach does look uniquely challenging at the same time.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to launch on 20 March for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Ubisoft recently confirmed that players are in for long game as the campaign can take anywhere between 30-40 hours to complete. Watch the new gameplay below.
