New Blade Runner Game in Development for 2025 Launch – Report

A new Blade Runner game is in development and targeting a launch in 2025, according to a recent report from renowned leaker Tom Henderson. The project will be helmed by 110 Industries, the studio previously tied to rumours about a potential Shenmue sequel.

The last proper Blade Runner game released was the 1997 point and click adventure developed by Westwood Studios for PC. An enhanced version of the game is expected to arrive on PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch soon thanks to Nightdive Studios and Limited Run Games.

According to Henderson, 110 Industries just acquired the licensing to make a Blade Runner game. Apparently it’s targeting a 2025 release window too. Not much else is known about the game since it has only just entered development at the company’s new studio in Switzerland.

EA founder Trip Hawkins joined 110 Industries earlier this year as an advisor on the company’s board. “110 Industries is a really ambitious company with a compelling vision and an exciting slate of upcoming titles, so this is a project that I’m really excited to be involved in,” said Hawkins. “I believe they have the potential to make a big impact on the industry and I’m looking forward to doing everything I can to assist the company in delivering on that.”

Blade Runner has made quite an impact on pop culture. The first film released in 1982 and was directed by Ridley Scott, while the sequel, Blade Runner 2049, released in 2017 and was directed by Dune‘s Denis Villeneuve. Several cyberpunk-themed IPs, including Cyberpunk 2077 and The Matrix, drew some inspiration from Blade Runner‘s unique style and aesthetics.

Since this new project only recently started development, we won’t hear any more about it until 2024 or 2025 at the latest. It’s also unknown which platforms it will launch on.
