Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout mode will be getting a new map today. Treyarch announced that ALCATRAZ, a brand new Blackout battle royale map will be launching on PS4 today followed by other platforms at a later date.
The new map is set on the foggy islands of Alcatraz with a load of new environments scattered around the giant prison atop the hill. The map is much smaller than the original Blackout map which will mix up gameplay and add new tactics to the experience.

Treyarch is calling this map a new “close-quarter” map where players will drop in, gear up and fight through the action as they survive in order to scurry to somewhere safe. However, the map does feature some long-range exterior firefights too if you look for them.

Alcatraz will be out today for PS4 and available within the next month or so for other platforms. In addition to the new map, Blackout will also be free for everyone, starting today and running up to the end of the month so you can download the game and play it and the new map without purchasing Black Ops 4 at all.
You will, however, need Xbox Live or PlayStation Plus to participate in the free trial.
