Elden Ring Shadow of The Erdtree

New Elden Ring Update Buffs Equipment and Spirit Ash Summons

Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer From Software have released update 1.13 for Elden Ring to make the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC a bit easier for struggling players. Equipment, incantations and spells have all received some notable nuffs alongside increased poise and damage output for several Spirit Ash summons. Unfortunately, the Mimic Tear remains unaffected by the update.

Update 1.13 for Elden Ring is now available on all platforms and it offers a sizeable amount of buffs to equipment, certain DLC weapons and the effectiveness of select spells and incantations. The biggest buff in the latest patch increases the poise of all Spirit Ash summons with the exception of the Mimic Tear, meaning they won’t stagger as easily in battle anymore. The Mimic Tear will remain the same since it’s already a reliably tanky summon with good damage output depending on your build.

The update also fixes several bugs and makes adjustments to the game. One notable adjustment reads, “Adjusted the placement of NPC summon signs in certain boss fight areas.” While it hasn’t been verified yet, it seems to be referring to two NPC summon signs in particular: Hornsent for Messmer the Impaler and Igon for Bayle the Dread, both of which can only be summoned inside the boss arena. It’s likely that From Software moved these summon signs closer to the fog gates so it’s easier for players to reach.

The full list of changes, tweaks, adjustments and buffs are staggering but you can read the full patch notes right here.

The last major update for Elden Ring changed the position of certain bosses in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. For example, Commander Gaius will now spawn further away and won’t charge you immediately as you enter his arena. Thrusting shields were also nerfed after players started using the weapon as an exploit to seemingly tank hits successfully without using much stamina.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
