The Final Fantasy 7 Remake has been in development for some time now, but Square Enix have finally given us a decent amount of gameplay to work with. Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s revitalised gameplay mechanics has given players a new way to interact with the game.

While we did get much more gameplay than we are used to, Square Enix still has a lot more left to show. The game makes use of an ATV, where playable characters can use basic attacks to charge a gauge for special moves, spells, and overall better damage output.

In the gameplay showcase, we got to see Cloud and Barret in action. Cloud is focused to a very close-range combat, while Barret is able to provide overwatch. We haven’t been given access to seeing everything the game has to offer, but Square Enix has assured the public that more information about the Final Fantasy 7 Remake will available to players in the coming months.
The gameplay also shows a boss battle. Cloud and Barret have their back against the wall, with the duo having to make use of their best moves to defeat the opponent that lay ahead. Square Enix has recently adapted the game to make full use of the world, with an example being the ability to use debris to avoid take damage.
The Final Fantasy 7 Remake entices us with its ability to mix real-time action and strategic combat all in one. But that would mean nothing if Square Enix didn’t bring our favourite characters to life and then some. Every character has seemingly been given extreme attention to detail, bringing out a new depth in the character’s personality.

The Collector’s Edition has also been revealed (available now for pre-order), alongside the highly-anticipated Tifa gameplay. Thankfully, we only have to wait until next year, which is a small price to pay to replay this masterpiece.
