Square Enix has dropped a new trailer for the anticipated Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The trailer is great for those who might need a catch-up on the events leading up to the game. If you perhaps skipped the original Final Fantasy VII Remake or only played it back in 2020 and didn’t replay it when it launched on PS5 alongside the Yufi DLC.
The trailer is a very brief summary of the game’s main story so don’t expect much meat here when it comes to side characters. It tells the story of Midgar, the City of Mako and how the Shinra Company was juicing the life out of the planet.

We also get a look at Avalanche, the infamous group of rebels who set out to take down Shinra and stop the damage. Their adventure led to the confrontation with Sephiroth which ultimately caused the fall of Midgar.
The trailer also ends at the start of the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth as the team, which includes Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Red and Barret leave Midgar to explore the world outside of the walls.
Set in Midgar, the City of Mako, the game explores the fierce struggles between the sinister Shinra Electric Power Company and the rebel group Avalanche, as they battle for the fate of the planet. The next instalment, FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH, will be released on PS5 on 29th of February 2024. In this standalone story, Cloud and his friends set out on a journey across the planet: New adventures await in a vibrant and vast world.
