New Gran Turismo 7 PS5 Gameplay Shows Daytona International Speedway

The latest PS5 gameplay footage for PlayStation and Polyphony’s upcoming racing simulator Gran Turismo 7 highlights the return of a fan-favourite track in Daytona International Speedway. The iconic circuit appeared before in Gran Turismo 5 and 6, and will finally make its grand return in the newest entry.

The footage (seen below) shows off Gran Turismo 7‘s magnificent visuals while also highlighting the same tight, absorbing gameplay that the series is known for. Daytona International Speedway has never looked this good, with plenty of detail in its track, stands and vehicles.

The gameplay also exclusively focuses on the PS5 version of Gran Turismo 7, so you can see it running at its full potential. The anticipated racing simulator will also arrive on PS4 when it launches this March, but many fans might gravitate towards the PS5 version simply due to its higher visual fidelity and promising DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers implementation.

Gran Turismo 7 was first announced a couple of years ago, and presumably would’ve been released earlier for the PS5 had development setbacks caused by the global pandemic not pushed it out further. However, it’s finally seeing a release in the next couple of months, and promises to be a return to form for the series.

The last entry in the franchise, Gran Turismo Sport, placed a heavy emphasis on online multiplayer, which alienated some of its core fanbase since previous entries were largely single-player centric. Gran Turismo 7 aims to return to the series’ roots by delivering a vast amount of vehicles, earning licenses, and taking to some of the most recognizable raceways in the world. Gran Turismo 7 will also feature online components, though it apparently won’t take precedence over the single-player experience this time.

Gran Turismo 7 releases on 4 March 2022 for PS4 and PS5.
