Developer Avalanche Software has released a new summer update for its open world RPG, Hogwarts Legacy, adding a Photo Mode, new broomsticks, new cosmetics items, new outfits and more. A newly expanded quest will also be made available to players on all platforms.
The Photo Mode for Hogwarts Legacy allows players to tinker with a variety of settings and even poses to capture that picture-perfect moment in the game. On a lesser note, the update also enables players to reset talent tree points – a highly-requested feature since it helps tremendously with planning out builds and trying out different talents without worrying that you might miss out on them once the credits roll.
A handful of new cosmetics items and outfits are also being added to the game. These include the Azkaban Coat, the Azkaban Prisoner’s Outfit, The Glasses That Lived (which is presumably Harry Potter’s signature glasses) and the Lavender Borealis broomstick. Avalanche Software didn’t mention if these items will be automatically added to the game or if there will be some requirements to unlock them such as completing certain quests first.
The summer update also expands access to the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest – a quest that was previously exclusive to PlayStation consoles. It’s now available for all platforms which adds the Shop Keeper’s Outfit as a reward along with the ability to gain ownership of your very own Hogsmeade shop. Additionally, the Onyx Hippogriff mount and Felix Felicis Potion Recipe, which were also PlayStation exclusive items, will be made available on all platforms too.
Hogwarts Legacy launched last year to tremendous sales, becoming the highest-selling video game of 2023 and beating out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in the process. In total, it sold over 24 million copies.
Hogwarts Legacy is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch. Check out the summer update trailer below:
