New gameplay footage for Hogwarts Legacy, the anticipated upcoming open-world RPG from Avalanche Software and Warner Bros Games, has emerged and it gives us a look at all four of the game’s common rooms, including the familiar Slytherin and Gryffindor locations. Interestingly, this is also the first time that we’ve ever seen the common rooms for Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff depicted in any Wizarding World media.
The common room for Slytherin is located at the bottom of the castle with windows looking out into The Black Lake. It was briefly featured in the Harry Potter films. Gryffindor was also showcased, which fans should already be very familiar with as it’s been shown frequently across the film series. However, we get some official looks at the common rooms for Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff for the first time.

Ravenclaw’s common room is situated at the top of a tower, hidden behind the statue of an eagle. Hufflepuff’s common room is located behind the school’s kitchens and is seemingly full of vegetation. The Harry Potter films never really showed these two common rooms and neither did any of the Wizarding World media, so it’s great to finally see them appear on screen in a visual medium. We’ve only ever received explanations of them from the books.
The “Back To Hogwarts” video for Hogwarts Legacy also revealed that a quest in the game will be based on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure ride at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park.
Hogwarts Legacy was originally planned to release later this year, but Warner Bros Games delayed the title to February 2023 in order to give the team more time in development. A recent Gamescom video highlighted the game’s dark magic and unforgivable curses too.
Hogwarts Legacy releases on 10 February 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch. Check out the new video below.
