Electronic Arts is in the process of developing a new Marvel game, it’s claimed. According to XboxEra podcast host Shpeshal Nick, who has a history of accurate industry leaks, EA has been quietly working on a Marvel title but he stopped short of mentioning any other information.
Marvel is no stranger to the video game world as they worked with several developers in the past including Capcom, Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, Nintendo, PlayStation and many more. However, EA is apparently the next company to work on another Marvel game if these reports are to be believed – though we still recommend taking it with a grain of salt for now.

Shpeshal Nick didn’t offer any other details about this supposed Marvel game in development at Electronic Arts, though we can’t rule out the possibility that it might be a mobile game. Some Redditors believe this to be the case as the Marvel IP would have a far greater reach on mobile devices as opposed to being another AAA title, which is unfortunately still haunted by Marvel’s Avengers‘ disastrous launch.
Other fans jokingly commented that EA would simply need to reskin Anthem and turn it into an Iron Man game, which is fair considering that was part of the discussions when BioWare’s troubled action game launched in 2019. Despite the controversies, Anthem‘s flight mechanics were praised and it’s easy to see why some players would want this.
Given the rush to develop live-service games, EA could also go down the same route as Marvel’s Avengers and attempt a live-service model. We doubt this would be the case, but it wouldn’t be surprising either considering EA’s past on pushing the live-service model.
Either way, we’ll only know at a later date if this rumour turns out to be true. EA has a multitude of projects currently in development including the next FIFA, Need for Speed, Skate 4, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, Mass Effect, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and the Dead Space remake, among others.
