Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies

New Modern Warfare 3 Zombie Trailer is Great But Explains Nothing in Terms of Gameplay

Operation Deadbolt is the name of the game as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 takes on a whole new zombie experience. It was confirmed a while back that Modern Warfare 3 would include an open-world zombie mode and according to Activision, it is going to completely reinvent the experience.

The latest cinematic trailer gives us a look at the events which lead up to the playable mode in Modern Warfare 3. Sadly, it doesn’t really explain how the mode will play nor is there any gameplay to see at all. Over on the official blog announcement, Activision has fleshed out some of the gameplay details but there’s really nothing worth noting.

The mode will see players get dropped into a large, immersive map where they will have to complete objectives across different regions which escalate in difficulty. There’s also a touch of so-called “player-versus-environment” (PvE) as players will have to extract from the map and work alongside other squads to help each other out.

By the sound of things, the open-world map will be a living and active realm where players might bump into other squads online. How this impacts the game mode is unclear at this point.

“Get ready to contain the incursion across different regions that escalate in difficulty, with core Zombies features and a cavalcade of secrets to discover. Ready up for an open-world, player-versus-environment (PvE) extraction survival experience shared with other squads, along with a number of special story missions. Expect to face a variety of unique elements, challenges, as well as cinematics to reinforce the major story developments. Take on the hordes of undead this fall on November 10, 2023.”

I do wish we got to see some actual gameplay with this announcement. It would have given players a bit more understanding as to what is going on in this mode. You’ll have to wait for the next update to drop. In the meantime, here’s the cinematic trailer:
