Capcom has released three new gameplay videos for Monster Hunter Wilds. The videos focus on various aspects of the upcoming game.
The first video is all about the game’s new mounts called the Seikret. These look like large Chocobo-like dinosaurs that players can use to get around. The video explains that players can call their Seikret in the world and mount it while sprinting. It can also automatically target the monster you’re hunting and follow the trail towards it.
These Seikret mounts also unlock the ability to take two weapons with you into a hunt. Players will equip one weapon on themselves and the second is stored in the Seikret’s pouch. While mounted, they can swap between the two. The first video also touches on the Slinger and Focus Mode. However, there’s a deeper Focus Mode video further on.
The second video is all about the Great Sword – an iconic weapon in the Monster Hunter series. This large two-handed weapon deals high damage but comes with a slow attack style. It can also guard against enemy attacks and when timed correctly, clash with a monster’s attack to counter it.
The last video then touches on the Focus Mode in Monster Hunter Wilds. This mode will let players aim their attacks and guards giving them more control over where they land.
By the look of things, it seems to act similar to a target system too where the camera follows the monster while you’re attacking. Players can also target previously inflicted wounds to deal more damage and trigger stuns.
Monster Hunter Wilds is expected to launch in 2025. According to a new report, the game is targeting an early 2025 launch.
