EA Games is prepping for quite a big year ahead of it according to a report. The company plans on releasing both a new Need for Speed game as well as the anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 by the end of 2022.
According to Tom Henderson, EA Games’ Criterion Games is already quite far into the development of the new Need for Speed. However, the studio had to pause the game back in the Summer of 2021 to help with the development of Battlefield 2042. This is another game EA is reportedly not too happy with and the company is looking into making it a free-to-play game.

At the moment, we don’t know anything about the new Need for Speed game or Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2. Last we heard, EA was prepping to showcase Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 before E3 2022. Keep in mind that this may change.
As for Need for Speed, we can only hope EA has taken the series back to its roots. The franchise has been in dire need of a reboot for a long time now. Hopefully, EA’s recent acquisition of Codemasters might help inject some new ideas into the upcoming racing game.
EA is expecting Need for Speed by Criterion Games to release in September/October 2022.
