New Need for Speed Video Leaks Showing Comic Styled Effects

Need for Speed seems to be the leaked game of the month. Earlier in August, we covered a handful of new gameplay leaks showcasing the game’s so-called “comic-styled” animations. According to the leak, Need for Speed features a range of cool-looking animated effects that pop up when the player performs a certain action. This includes drifting which spawns cartoon smoke and even sparks that come out of the exhaust.

A new clip has been uploaded online that now reveals a crashing animation. The clip sees a player leap into the air and smash into the side of a doughnut. This round object is seemingly placed in the game world for players to jump through. Perhaps one of many tricks you can perform while exploring the open world.

The thing to pay attention to in the clip is the animation that takes place during the jump. We can see some cool sparks coming out of the exhaust pipes on the car. Then when the car hits the wall, the game produces a red screen effect to represent a crash. Then there’s a skull that appears on the top of the car. There’s also a set of wings that come out very quickly from both the left and right sides of the vehicle.

There are some other things to spot in the clip too. The player is seemingly performing a trick in an attempt to fill up their point scale. This is seen on the top right-hand side of the screen. There are three stars that will likely reward them with points and money should they have made the jump.

We don’t know where this clip came from but it definitely fits into the previous Need for Speed leaks we have seen up to this point. EA Games has yet to announce Need for Speed 2022. Although, at this rate, we will likely see the game released in early 2023 instead.
