New Playerunknown Game “Prologue” Announced and it is not a Battle Royale

A new game from PUBG creator Playerunknown was announced during The Game Awards 2019 and it is not what you think. “Prologue” is not a battle royale game but we don’t know much about it other than it won’t follow in PUBG’s footsteps. The short trailer shown off during the awards did not reveal much and the website it points to does not either.

According to the Prologue website, the game is an exploration of new technologies and gameplay.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#FF0000″ class=”” size=”19″]Our aim with this game is to give players  unique and memorable experiences, each and every time they play. Our studio was founded with the goal of exploring, experimenting, and creating new technologies and gameplay experiences. With Prologue, we are taking our first steps toward building new technologies and interactions that will help develop my ideas into reality. I have been given a once in a lifetime chance to deliver something new on a global stage. Being given a platform to build a brand-new experience outside of the Battle Royale genre is an amazing gift, and one I don’t want to squander, said Playerunknown”[/perfectpullquote]

If you ask me, Prologue sounds like a roguelike survival game but it could be anything right now. I also have a feeling it is being developed for next-gen which would not be surprising as The Game Awards hosted both the next-gen Xbox Series X and a PS5-exclusive reveal Godfall.

You can sign up for updates from the developer as they reveal more about the game in the coming months over on the official site.
