Last month, Sony surprised us all by officially revealing the first specifications for the PS5, but the next-gen console isn’t coming in the next 12 months or so. The PS4 still has some life in it with a bunch of exclusives heading our way. Sony isn’t just leaving the PS4 to die, as a rumour suggests new PS4 features are coming in the next big System Software update, likely 7.00.

While the PS4 System Software update 6.50 brought remote play to iOS and more, and the 6.00 update brought Play Time Management as well as custom wallpapers, the 7.00 update looks even better. That’s if you believe the latest rumour doing the rounds from insider Tidux.
The rumour suggests that the new PS4 features coming our way include Wishlists and Gifting from the PS Store, a trophy progression system (how far you are from completing the requirements). Further, players will get the ability to pin games to their PS4 dashboard and lastly, there will be a time log/stats feature on the PS4 dashboard.
Upcoming features for the #PS4 UI coming.

Keep in mind that you should always take rumours like this one with a grain of salt until such time as Sony officially reveals the new PS4 features coming in the 7.00 update.
Since this will be a System Software update, it is likely that these features will also be available on the PS5 when it finally launches, probably sometime mid to late next year.
