New Red Dead Redemption Logo Leak Sparks Remaster Speculation

Rockstar has updated its website with a new logo for Red Dead Redemption. The logo was added recently while at the same time, a listing for a new version of Red Dead Redemption was also spotted.

The game version is called “Red Dead Redemption – Rockstar Presents Version“. The logo features the same wording titled “Rockstar Games Presents: Red Dead Redemption“.

If anything, the logo is much the same as the original PS3 game but the “Rockstar Games Presents” tag does add fuel to the fire. According to the person who spotted the new content, Rockstar only added the information to the site yesterday. So this is fairly new.

I highly doubt Rockstar would update a logo for a game over 10 years old for fun. I also doubt the studio would rename the classic version because that conflicts with current ratings and listings. There is definitely something going on here.

Reports previously stated that Rockstar was indeed working on a remaster of the original Red Dead Redemption. The studio was also working on a now-gen port of Red Dead Redemption 2. However, due to the trainwreck that was the GTA Trilogy Remaster, the company decided to cancel both projects as well as the rumoured GTA IV Remaster.

The cancellation was also due to the massive GTA 6 leak which caused some major internal issues at Rockstar. While the studio never confirmed the projects were cancelled, sources claimed that was the case.

It seems that Rockstar might have picked up the remaster after cancelling it. Perhaps the studio wanted to release something new while fans wait for the highly anticipated launch of GTA 6. I just hope there’s a Red Dead Redemption 2 upgrade in there somewhere too.
