Resident Evil Netflix New Trailer Lickers

New Resident Evil Netflix Series Trailer Features Lickers

Netflix has published a new trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil series and we get our first proper look at some familiar foes, including Lickers and more monstrosities. The show will not be tied to the video games, but will take place in New Raccoon City and once again feature the Umbrella Corporation as the antagonists.

“Nearly three decades after the discovery of the T-virus, an outbreak reveals the Umbrella Corporation’s dark secrets. Based on the horror franchise,” reads the series’ official Netflix description. The story will focus on the Wesker kids who arrive in New Raccoon City and quickly uncover some dark secrets.

However, The Hollywood Reporter claims that the series will be set in two different timelines:

“In the first, 14-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker are moved to New Raccoon City. A manufactured, corporate town, forced on them right as adolescence is in full swing. But the more time they spend there, the more they come to realize that the town is more than it seems and their father may be concealing dark secrets. Secrets that could destroy the world.”

The second timeline will reportedly take place over 10 years in the future when “less than 15 million people are left on Earth. And more than 6 billion monsters — people and animals infected with the T-virus.”

The first season of Netflix’s Resident Evil series will feature eight one-hour episodes, with Andrew Dabb (Supernatural) and Bronwen Hughes (The Walking Dead) directing the first two episodes. Lance Reddick, best known for Guerrilla Games’ Horizon video games and the television show Fringe, will star as Albert Wesker.

In related news, Capcom confirmed a showcase set to take place next week that will feature Resident Evil Village updates and hopefully the recently announced Resident Evil 4 remake.

Netflix’s Resident Evil airs on 14 July. Check out the latest trailer below.
